Born and raised in the Bay Area, California, Jason was surrounded by classic rock and disco. However, it was during his early high school years that he discovered the electrifying energy of heavy metal bands such as Metallica, Scorpions, and Iron Maiden.
As his musical horizons expanded, Jason found a new avenue of expression in the world of new wave music. Bands like The Cure, New Order, and Depeche Mode resonated deeply with him, sparking a fascination with textures and introspective lyricism. This exploration continued throughout his college years, intersecting with the world of jazz and classical music; and later the transformative grunge movement led by luminaries like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam.
A graduate of Chico State University, Jason played in various college bands before corporate life beckoned. He eventually found his way to the Sierra foothills, started a family and walked away from music for a life of adventure through parenting, rock climbing, skiing, and coaching youth soccer.
Jason's affinity for music eventually rekindled, culminating in the formation of Supercommon. Jason has dedicated decades to his personal and spiritual growth, an endeavor that leaches into his introspective lyrics. His compositions offer listeners a genuine connection to his experiences and emotions.
"And I know that this is not done
And I know that I am the one
Now I feel I am now strong
Cause I've been here oh so long
Feel the sting as I choose to be"
Born in Germany and later landed in Sacramento, CA in the early 80s. When he received a few Kiss albums from his uncle at the age of 4, Sean's fate was sealed. Those albums ignited a fascination with the bass guitar, quite possibly fueled by the allure of Gene Simmons.
Next he was introduced to the grit of AC/DC and the rhythms of Creedence Clearwater Revival, followed by Cliff Burton of Metallica. However, it was Flea's (RHCP) performance in the "Bust a Move" video that truly unlocked something for Sean. The way Flea's fingers danced across the strings, pulsating with energy, conveyed the heart and soul of the bass. It was in that moment that Sean understood that the bass was not just an accompaniment, but a force that could shape the very core of a song.
Sean acquired his first guitar during his mid-teenage years, but it wasn't until he was 20 that he purchased his first bass. He began playing in a few bands and on June 6, 2006 stepped on stage for the first time. Sean has traversed the West Coast, sharing stages with both iconic mainstream acts and the hidden gems of the underground scene. His versatility shines through as he embraces rock, reggae, country, blues, and hip-hop.
For Sean, the stage is his sanctuary. The exhilaration of performing, the camaraderie with fellow bandmates, the connection with the audience, and the pure love of the music provides his fuel for life.
From Rancho Cordova, CA, Bobby's musical odyssey began with the rhythmic beats of his father's albums, a young boy drumming along to the melodies that would shape his musical passion. As a teen, an interest for the guitar emerged and he taught himself how to play on an orange Squire.
His roots firmly planted in the eclectic soil of diverse musical styles, Bobby's appetite for sonic innovation grew during his formative years. Immersed in the vibrant Sacramento hardcore/punk scene, he channeled his energy into various musical projects.
His nickname "Bobby Boom," affectionately coined by his perceptive 3-year-old cousin, marked a pivotal chapter in his life as he embarked on a journey with his future wife, Carly.
Bobby dedicated nine years to the US Navy. Upon his return to his hometown he was eager to once again contribute his creative energy to the local music scene.
When pressed to identify his inspirations, Bobby acknowledges the impact of musical greats like Rush and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
At a young age David Smith wanted to play music, at first he tried out guitar and realized it wasn't quite his niche. When David was introduced to Nirvana and heard Dave Grohl he KNEW he wanted to play drums. Starting at the age of 11, David learned classical orchestra snare, marimba, bells, timpani and every other percussion instrument you could think of.
It wasn't until 9th grade David found the love of the full drum set, stemming from doing drumline and playing the marching tenors. He tried out the drum set at the school and it felt natural and very fun to play. He didn't have a drum set at the time but decided if he doesn't have one why not just make one, His parents realized that he wanted to be a drummer and got him his very first drum set.
From then on David has been playing on and off for 14 years jamming mostly playing to music tracks and for church, David joined his first band, Ear Kitty, and has been playing live music ever since, looking to improve his ability & techniques and have a blast creating music.
